It's a slow news week around here, but the weather is making up for it. We had snowfall all day yesterday. It was very pretty, but it left a lot of snow to shovel just before dinnertime. I'm not exactly sure how much we got, but my best estimate is a good 4-5 inches. This year I am doing my best to embrace snow shoveling as a form of exercise and another way to get outside. Compared to fighting it (or finding someone else willing to do it), this approach makes it more tolerable. (Also, if the truth be totally told, there's also the competitive aspect of snow shoveling, which makes it satisfying to have our walkways neatly shoveled. Oh yeah, and of course there's also the not-wanting-anyone-to-fall-on-your-ice aspect of it all, but a shoddy shoveling job can still take care of that one.) Today it's sunny and pretty so I took some pictures. The photo of the berries is along the side fence in our backyard. The photo of the houses is the view out our front door, and if you look closely you can see it's actually a photo of our house, though it's its shadow.
