Mary got home yesterday from Boston and her four day trip to Harvard Model UN. She had a great time, and you can see in the picture she is ready to stroll into school today wearing her HMUN t-shirt, her conference badge, and her snazzy new glasses (which she and the other Shorewood girls got in Boston to wear to the Delegate Dance). Shorewood took about 20 kids to the conference, representing 2 countries (Slovakia and Cameroon). Mary was on the Slovakia team, and her committee assignment was the EU. This means she spent most of her HMUN time in committee with the ~25 other EU committee members - a fairly small group, which she was happy about. HMUN is the largest Model UN conference for high school kids. They had about 2500 kids there, from many states and a surprising array of countries (including kids from as far away as Asia). The schedule also allowed Mary to get to visit John at Tufts, and they had a good time together. And for any of you who were wondering (ahem, Petrene), I checked with Mary and got confirmation that they did not get any ice in Boston. Somehow it missed them. Finally...........Peter arrives home tomorrow and John on Wednesday!
