On Memorial Day, we drove over to Mystic, Connecticut, a beautiful village on the far southeast corner of Connecticut. From our house in Woodbury, it's about 90 miles. We enjoyed the museum, which is an array of old buildings from different parts of Mystic and Connecticut, brought together to teach about life in the days when Mystic was a major shipbuilding area in the 1800's. It's so pretty and interesting and we really enjoyed our day there. On the way home, we drove home along the shoreline and enjoyed seeing the pretty towns there. We had a delicious Thai dinner in Guilford and enjoyed relaxing after dinner on the huge village green they have there.

We timed our visit just right, as Memorial Day Weekend is "Lobster Days" at Mystic Seaport. We had fun figuring out how to eat the whole lobster, and Mary really had fun with the lobsters when we were done with them.
This is what I mean about Mary having fun with the lobsters.
An example of the beauty of Mystic.
Me and Mary in an whaling old ship. The doorways and ceiling were super low.
