Day One
I have never before written a blog post from a moving car. This is a first! We couldn't get an internet connection from the house today, so tonight after we went out for dinner we turned on the computer in the car, and got the connection. Now we're driving to the grocery store, so John can get ingredients for Brad's Father's Day dinner (BBQ'd ribs, a la Nick N.) and I am in the backseat . . . . posting! This is craziness! (It's hard to type too!) Anyway, back to news about the moving. The movers finished unloading by 2:00 today, just in time to beat the rain. Brad, John, and I spent the afternoon unpacking, then went out for dinner. We got a lot of unpacking done today, and my big accompishment was unpacking ALL of the dining room . . . . but of course there's still a lot to do. The house is great, and I am sure we will love it. It is already starting to feel like home. I think having our belongings inside helps. The dogs definitely think so. They are much more calm today. I think that's all about moving. John and Brad are now in Stop N Shop, while I sit in a car and it's pouring rain outside. At dinner we went to a Woodbury restaurant that has a bar and we ate at the bar so we could watch TV (Brewers and US Open - an unbeatable combo) - I asked the bartender if this weather (I feel like we're in a jungle - lots of humidity and rain) was normal and he said it's very unusual. Phew!
