Last night I realized why I feel so tired. For our last three moves, after the movers packed us all up, we had 6-8 weeks before we saw our belongings again, since they were overseas moves and thus took a long time. This time, when we saw our belongings two days later, it was like the move was in fast forward! So once I realized this, it made sense why this move felt different from the others. As to how things are today, I think this photo says it all. The light is shining through. Although we have had rain or overcast skies almost constantly since we arrived, this afternoon I saw some sun coming through the window, so I ran out to the back deck to take this picture. No sooner had I taken it than the sun went away. Rumor has it the sun will return before the end of the week. I'll believe it when I see it! As for what's going on here, basically the unpacking continues and we're making progess. We got the home phone set up today and new door locks installed -- it's not all that exciting but still it's progress. Tonight I cooked dinner at home, as the kitchen is fully unpacked, but if you step one inch outside of the kitchen, BEWARE! as it's a disaster area. So the kitchen is what you would call a "safe zone." Mary got to call Brad last night for Father's Day. It sounds like all is well on the trip. They return to Shorewood on Wednesday night. I will be without a computer tomorrow night as Brad's in NYC for the night. So I'll hopefully have an update on Wednesday night. Til then...........!
P.S. I panicked tonight when I heard the news of the DC Metro accident as it's the line Peter rides; I was able to get in touch with him and he didn't ride the Metro today so he is fine. Mom has a few more grey hairs but that's par for the course .........
