This is the garden I planted yesterday. The beds were already in, but they were filled with weeds. The soil seems good and there were a lot of worms in it. It has been 9 years since we had a vegetable garden, so it will be a treat to have one this year.

This is the fence I helped Brad to build this weekend, all 400 feet of it. We fenced in a portion of the backyard for the dogs. He pounded in the posts over the past couple of weeks. The soil is rocky when you get below a few inches down, so it's really hard to get them in. We are almost done. We ran out of cable ties when we were within spitting distance of the end. When we ran out, we hit every hardware and garden store in Woodbury and in the neighboring town of Southbury (around 6-8 stores), but it was after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, so they were all closed. If you can't tell, we had no idea that 1:00 p.m. was a common closing time on Sunday, but apparently it is. So, the fence is not quite done and we'll finish it next weekend.

In the meantime, Brad is clearing out a lot of trees. This weekend when he wasn't building a fence he was taking down tree limbs. The area in this picture is toward the back of the backyard. Our property goes to the tree line that is behind this tree line (you can't see it in the photo), but all of that area in the furthest of the back is a protected wetlands area. He's trying to thin out a lot of the extra foliage in this tree line, and open up the view to the wetlands behind these trees. The branches in this picture are the last that he's cut down, and the biggest amount too. As I sit here and type this post, I hear him out back sawing away and dragging the branches into the woods.

Allie likes it here.

Kia likes it too.
