Weekend in Washington

Brad, Mary, and I trained it to DC for the three-day Columbus Day weekend. We had a great time seeing Peter, eating delicious food, and seeing more sights in DC.
This is Peter, Brad, and Mary on our way to the Newseum, a new, huge museum of journalism that we all loved. In an entire afternoon we barely scratched the surface. We'll be back!
Brad and Mary at DC's Chinatown Gate. For fans of superlatives, it's the longest such single-span archway in the world.
Peter and Mary outside Peter's apartment. Matching coats, jeans, shoes . . . coincidence . . . or genetics???
Funfact: Peter lives on Tunlaw Road, and he said he heard the street got its name after its original name of Walnut Road was, along with some other streets in DC, reversed by the Americans in an attempt to confuse the British invaders during the War of 1812. I tried without success to verify this on Google, so not sure if it's truth or just a legend, but for such a strange street name, it's a good story anyway.
Brad and Peter on one of our yummy eating adventures. This was at a place near his apartment called Rocklands that serves barbeque, and it was sooooo good! A good one to take note of for if you're ever in the north part of Georgetown. All of us in Peter's apartment. I just realized that from the looks of these pictures, it might look like we all stayed at Peter's apartment. That would have been fun, but only for us and not for Peter's three roommates! We were in a hotel that was about a 10-minute bus ride from where Peter lives. So it was a super fun weekend, but of course there was someone missing . . . John! Next weekend we'll be visiting him!
