Flashback Friday

This picture is worth way more than 1000 words, but here are just a few words to describe what's going on. In March of 1994, John is playing outside in the snow and, as you can see, he's without a coat. Even at the age of three, that's classic John behavior. I'm just surprised he has long sleeves on under his short-sleeved shirt. We also see that John is wearing a Chicago Cubs shirt. Again, that's classic John and early evidence of his devotion to the Cubs. I am pretty sure he wore that shirt knowing that spring training was underway. I think this not just because I know the picture was taken in March, but also because I see his golf clubs leaning against the garage. (Golf season mostly overlaps spring training, and knowing this was early Harrison indoctrination.) While John was practicing his golf, if only this photo had sound you would hear that he was aspiring to be as good as his favorite player (and, at that time, alter ego), Freddie Couples. (Also, notice the Fred Couples-style visor he's wearing.) But this is a kid who also likes winter, and it is afterall still winter, thus the hockey stick. And finally, although I have no way to prove this, I guarantee you John is talking himself through all that he's doing. I can practically see his lips moving. Love ya, John.
