A Later Fall

New England it's not. But I think fall in Saint Louis will be more colorful than I had originally expected. Last week I was happy to get a photo of a lone leaf in front of our house.

Just a few days later and I'm already noticing more trees changing color. This morning I found some especially pretty leaves. This week we're expecting temperatures in the 30s overnight, which is the coldest we've had yet. Maybe I'm delusional, but it's still hard for me to believe we're in the same gardening zone (5b) as Racine, Shorewood and Woodbury. Once the weather warms up and we get our garden started next year, we'll get a better handle on it. For now, I'm just hoping for more foliage like this!
