On Saturday morning Brad and I said "so long" to my parents after a very nice visit. My dad's birthday was a fun celebration, and it was great to see everyone, but by Saturday morning it was time to get on the road for a reunion with a certain daughter we hadn't seen in quite awhile.

The last time we'd seen Mary was in Spain in May. That's just too long! We were all happy to be reunited outside the band's buses on the USC campus. We had a few minutes to catch up on hugs, meet some of her band friends, and hang out before the band began their march onto campus.

We followed the band through campus to here, which was the location of the Stanford Alumni Tailgater. We were treated to their tailgater concert and got to spend a few more minutes with Mary.

Mary leaving the tailgater. They went to a nearby building and had lunch, so we said our goodbyes until the game.

This is the band doing their pregame show at the game. A scatter band if ever there was one.

We sat right behind the band. And I mean RIGHT behind. This is them turning around and playing to the crowd during the game.

Mary sat just a few rows in front of us, so she popped up to say hi a couple of times during the game, and we popped down after the game was over to say so long. It was also fun to spend the evening with our friends Stuart and Vanessa, who joined us for the game.

That Stanford loss wasn't the way we thought we'd end the evening, but getting to spend the day with and around Mary and the band made it a happy day regardless of the outcome. We'll spend the next few days in other parts of California and be in Palo Alto for more time with Mary and the band later in the week, which culminates this Saturday with Big Game vs. Cal. Stay tuned!
