Flashback Friday
Each year as the winter got longer ….. and longer ….. our kids' schools used to come up with creative little events to keep things interesting. Whether it was Spirit Week or Crazy Hair Day or a School Sleepover, these mid-winter activities helped to bring a sparkle to days when it was bitterly cold and often grey and spring was still months away. On February 15, 2002, when she was in third grade in Warsaw, Mary put together this ensemble for Dress Like a Teacher Day. Her outfit is a bit eccentric - one of the boys' Prairie blazers, John's tie, a pair of hand-me-down Adidas athletic pants, and what I think is just a plain red t-shirt. (The combination of which I think is not a reflection on how she thought any of her teachers actually dressed.) But by the look on her face, she seemed to think she rocked Dress Like a Teacher Day. (Shout out to Peter ….. since you "dress like a teacher" every day ….. we still have that tie should you want it.)
