Happy Easter

We had a beautiful Easter Sunday. It was warm (in the 80s) and sunny and so many trees are flowering. The blossoms above are from a tree in one of our neighbors' yards.

This one, however, is ours. While we didn't do anything to contribute to the pretty blossoms, we're still enjoying them!

Allie gets a pretty view of this cherry tree, which is next to our driveway. It's in full bloom and we enjoy seeing it through our tall windows.

Time for Easter! Brad spent the morning working on his new project, which is a headboard that he's making from an old door. Today it was stripping and sanding the door.

John and Sirius came over for brunch. (Troy had to work.) This was a big deal, as Sirius has never been here before and when it comes to socializing with other dogs, Allie ….. doesn't. (Fortunately, Sirius is super friendly.) We started with Sirius on the leash and after she barked at him for a bit, Allie got used to him being there.
John took off Sirius' leash and Allie held her own while Brad and I held our breaths.

Allie got used to him and mostly she tried to avoid him. But she didn't try to bite him or do anything along those lines. This was a huge victory.

By the end of the afternoon they continued to do great. Both of them were united in one cause: snuffing out the cat(s?) that live under our deck. Allie's been on the hunt ever since we moved in. Sirius took it to another level, quickly figuring out how to get into the crawl space under the deck. (He's a sly one.) But sadly for him, he didn't find any cats.

As for the humans in my story, we had a nice brunch and enjoyed a gorgeous Easter afternoon on the deck.
