When I wrote about the parade on Friday I forgot one really important fact. Remember the float with the vets from The Battle of the Bulge? My Uncle Kelly (my mom's brother) was in that battle, in the trenches in Belgium. It's hard to imagine being in that situation at the young age of 19, but he was. I'm happy to report that he came home safely, married a wonderful woman, and they live happily in San Diego where (if you know him this is no surprise) he keeps everyone around him laughing. (Hey Uncle Kelly, maybe next year you can come to St. Louis and be in our parade?!)
