The kids love it when I post photos of their middle school years - so Peter, this one's for you! (Don't worry John, it'll be your turn next week.) In October of 2002, the band at the kids' school in Yokohama traveled to the Ishikawa prefecture for a cultural/musical exchange with some Japanese schools. Brad and I went along and so did all three of our kids - Peter on the tenor saxophone, John on the tuba, and Mary on the oboe. (Mary was technically too young for the traveling group, but the band director let her come along and play with the older kids since Brad and I were chaperones.) It was a fantastic trip. This is Peter and his friend Scott at one of the performances.
