Thanksgiving Part Four and the Finale: Food

There was so much food this weekend that I'm devoting a post to it. We started on Tuesday night with some zucchini prepared by Mary, with help from Troy and John. She just baked them with some bread crumbs and Parmesan on top—so easy! We served it over pasta with red sauce. Super yummy!
And then there was Thanksgiving. While Brad carved the turkey, he had Sirius on one side of him . . . . .
. . . . . and Allie on the other side. (But then again, you knew that would happen.)
Need I say we had more food than we could eat? Most of the usual suspects showed up at this Thanksgiving feast.
We even brought back the "pink stuff" to our Thanksgiving spread. (And while I didn't take dessert photos, we had the usual array of Thanksgiving pies, plus Sus brought homemade Danish pancakes, topped with fruit spread and ice-cream—so delicious!)
On Friday we took a break from cooking and ate mostly leftovers. But by last night we were back in the kitchen making dinner before sitting down to watch the Stanford game. (Minus Mary, who flew back to DC on Saturday morning.) The highlight of the night was the Thai curry soup that Peter made. John helped by pressing the tofu.
After two days of too many carbs, my contribution to dinner was a kale salad.
But last night was all about Peter's soup. The ingredients speak for themselves.
And the chef isn't bad either!
While Peter made his soup, Brad grilled a steak for our salad. As you might have guessed, he had some helpers.
Sirius is never far from any meat in the house. (Or oatmeal, as my mom knows too well.)
Peter outdid himself. The soup tasted as good as it looked—no, better! It was a fitting finale to a weekend of food. Now Peter is on his way back to DC and we are savoring not only the memories of the delicious food we ate this past week, but also the memories of the wonderful company of family and friends!

  1. Looks like a wonderful fun and food filled weekend. I think I'll have to fly Peter out to Colorado to make that soup for me!! When did Peter learn how to make that?
