2015 Movie Marathon

It seems like it just began, but the 2015 movie marathon is already over! To work around John and Troy's work schedules, we saw all three of our movies over the weekend. On Christmas night, we saw The Big Short. (Afterwards, we took this picture.) We all agreed it was well done, but deeply disturbing.
On Saturday afternoon, we gathered to see the movie Joy. Before the movie started, we were treated to an old-fashioned movie treat—a live organist at the theatre!
Joy was lighter fare than the movie from the previous day. We all agreed it was fine, but not as good as we had hoped it would be. Then on Sunday morning (why morning?—three words: Green Bay Packers) we saw Spotlight. (No photo from that outing, sorry.) This movie was the clear winner for all of us. Great story telling and just a really good movie. The underlying topic was difficult, but as a movie it was excellent. So we give six thumbs up to Spotlight and bid adieu to this year's movie marathon!
