Birthday Weekend

Thirteen Poss family members and two friends gathered on Friday night in Kansas City to celebrate Steve's 50th and Lauren's 24th birthdays. Included in that group were five of the 12 Poss cousins. (And as all of them would surely want to tell you if they could, they're not only Grandma's five favorites, but also the five best looking.) It was a fun night!
And speaking of the best looking, let's not forget Troy and Kelly!
Mom sent Steve's kindergarten picture. Back then he was a better dresser and he had more hair but other than that he hasn't changed much, has he?
Thanks to Kathy for sharing many of the pictures on this post. She has the best camera and takes the best pictures. (But then again, with beauties like these it's hard to go wrong!)
Little brother and his two big sisters.
Don and Brad were good sports in a house with so many Posses.
Connor always makes a party more lively!
Speaking of lively, we had three dogs in the house. Kevin is a gigantic puppy (and a good hugger too).
The two mature dogs took a breather while Kevin was in his kennel. Brad and I went home on Saturday afternoon, and we brought Allie and Sirius back with us. Even though they had to share the backseat of our sedan, I think in their minds it was an improvement over coping with a gregarious Great Dane! (And I'm sure Kevin was happy to spend less time in his kennel too.)
On Saturday morning, I went for a walk with the Kidds, while some of the rest of the group went to the dog park, and some of the others went for a run.
On Saturday afternoon we brought Sirius to the Farmer's Market and had a delicious lunch outside. The weather was stupendous.
On Saturday afternoon most everyone went home but a few were left. They all went out to to dinner and (I'm told) had some good beer too.
And on Sunday, the remaining four got a personal tour at Boulevard Brewing, thanks to Troy. A fitting end to a happy weekend.
