In the Thick of Spring

Last Friday night John and Troy came over for a belated birthday dinner for Brad. It was our first time to use the screened-in porch this year. I think we've used it practically every day since. It's the perfect time of year for it!
We had a birthday cake and a really nice evening together. On Saturday Brad and I used a gift certificate that John and Troy gave us for Christmas for a new restaurant, which was delicious. Then on Sunday we had dinner out with John and Troy and a surprise guest (Lloyd!), who was in town overnight for an appointment.
Allie was really happy to have extra people in the house.
And Sirius, who isn't that fond of dog toys, seemed to regret giving this toy to Allie for Christmas. He had such a fun time playing with it (and coveting it).
I did laundry on Sunday just before taking Allie for a walk. Anytime she senses that we're going for a walk, she gets very excited and wants to play with her toys. I was trying to finish the laundry but she kept throwing her toy in the basket. She knows how to get my attention, that's for sure.
The beautiful spring we've been having has been great for our grass. This picture doesn't do it much justice, but the dividends are coming in for the front lawn that Brad's tried to improve for the past three years. It looks as lush and green as it ever has.
We didn't do anything to deserve these beauties, which are all along our driveway, but we can still admire them!

  1. Looks like a another nice weekend. How come I can't remember you having a screened in porch? I wish this snow would go away and spring would finally come to Denver!
