We Met Them in St. Louis

After our time together in Memphis, we had another fun visit with Peter and Jessa here in St. Louis. Their first order of business was a beer festival with John and Troy on Saturday afternoon. (I'm not privy to any pictures from that event, so you'll have to use your imagination!) The following morning we met up with old friends Al and Jan Hagopian, who were in town. Al was Peter's soccer and basketball coach in Racine for about five years. (Since soccer is a fall and spring sport, and basketball is winter, that means Al coached Peter pretty much year-round.) They hadn't seen each other since we lived in Shorewood, and we had a fun morning with them catching up and reminiscing about old times.
Peter and Jessa's visit coincided with St. Louis Craft Beer Week. Thankfully the weather wasn't too hot or humid for the first ever St. Louis Craft Beer Week 5k, which took place in Forest Park.  Here are our contenders. We went at different speeds, but everyone finished the course!
Sunday evening we went to a Craft Beer Week event at a restaurant in the Central West End. The theme was beer and food pairings, and all of the beers were brewed by St. Louis female brewers. (Guess who one of those female brewers was?!) While Troy mingled and talked about her beers, John was hard at work pouring.
Meanwhile, the rest of us were hard at work eating the yummy food and drinking the delicious beers. My favorite was Troy's American IPA. (And I'm not just saying that!)
On Monday night we had a family dinner at home—the best kind!
On Tuesday afternoon, Troy treated us to a backstage tour at Civil Life.
And Tuesday night we all played a special Craft Beer Week version of trivia at iTap. (But we were all so tired that we went home after playing three rounds.)
And on Wednesday these two got back on the road. They're in Nashville tonight. Tomorrow they drive to Harpers Ferry, Virginia for a weekend with some close friends (which includes a certain sister). From Virginia they'll make their way back to Jessa's mom's house in Gettysburg until they fly to Morocco on August 14!
