Visitors

We said a fond farewell to Lloyd and Esther earlier this week. While they were here we enjoyed some family time with John and Troy. This is a picture from the night that John schooled us all in the fine art of how to make a really good grilled cheese sandwich. They were yummy.
The Packers played on a Sunday that was a beautiful day in St. Louis, so we went to an outdoor sports bar to watch. This meant Sirius could join us. (They lost, but don't tell Sirius.)
Last Sunday morning we cheered for Troy as she ran her first half marathon. (If you're not sure where she ran, look way in the background and that Arch gives you a clue.)
We interrupt this blog post to bring you a Harrison backyard wildlife update. Last week was a big week for wildlife events in our yard, all witnessed by Brad. Not only did Allie trap her first squirrel ever—and on her eleventh birthday no less—but she also chased a hawk (see above) off our lawn. The hawk was on the ground in the middle of the yard and Allie ran out and chased him away. He flew into the tree and waited until for awhile, then he apparently got bored and flew away. The third wildlife event of the week was yesterday when Brad saw a squirrel get flipped off our "Yankee Flipper" bird feeder. We knows it works, we've just never seen a squirrel get flipped (it's battery operated to spin when the weight of a squirrel trips it) but Brad finally got to see it yesterday.
Back to visitors—last Sunday was Esther's birthday so we had dinner at our house to celebrate.
Esther wore the birthday crown and Lloyd brought the birthday cake.
Now the Bediks are on their way to Portugal by way of Oregon. You might think our house is quiet, but the house painters are here so we have a lot of activity (outside) for the next couple of weeks.
