Last week we enjoyed a nice week with Brad's parents in town. On Labor Day weekend we met friends for dinner at a restaurant near the Queen Mary. We never knew it existed but we loved it and can't wait to go back. The setting was simply gorgeous and photos don't do it justice—so you'll just have to visit us and we'll take you there!
This is Brad's parents with our friends, Dan and Bill. Actually they're my sisters' friends but now they're our neighbors in Long Beach so they're becoming our friends too!
Bill and Dan brought their friends, four Australians (two brothers, their mom—oops, make that mum, and a family friend) who were in the States for a visit. Even though most of the people in our group didn't know each other before this dinner, we had a fantastic and fun time together.
For example, this is my new Aussie friend Helen!
The next morning we ate near the water again, this time on the other side. This is a restaurant at a local museum a few blocks from our house. They serve weekend brunch in a gorgeous setting.
It was a water-themed weekend. We also went on an hourlong tour of Long Beach Harbor.
We saw cruise ships, shipping ships (I couldn't think of a more elegant way to say that), and regular boats, and had some great views on our ride. Also, on a really hot weekend it was super cool on the water!
On Sunday we traveled to Temecula and had lunch with my mom.
We also did a FaceTime call with John and Troy. They were out with Troy's mom at the venue where they're having their wedding reception so they gave us a little tour and everybody saw how it all looks.
Naturally, being in Temecula, Simba stole the show!
Looks like a really nice visit. Stay away from my husband!! :)
