And now, a few posts about the food in Morocco. Above: a Moroccan breakfast in Casablanca when Brad and I were tourists while Peter and Jessa were at work. This place gave us all the best breads Morocco has to offer for breakfast, along with some goat cheese, honey, and lovely oils to spread on the bread. We also had scrambled eggs in that red tagine. Not pictured: fresh squeezed orange juice. It was delicious!
Another breakfast, this time in Tangier. Notice the abundance of bread, more fresh squeezed orange juice, and a bonus for the pork-deprived Casablanca locals: Spanish ham!
We absolutely loved Moroccan Mint Tea and we had it often. The four of us had this tea at a seaside tea house overlooking the Atlantic in Tangier.
Here is Peter buying some tangerines in Tangier. Have I mentioned how proficient he is with his French? French is spoken widely in Morocco and Peter really impressed us with his proficiency (and by proficiency I mean he can actually converse in French). Peter and Jessa know a few Arabic words too, but most everyone they interact with speaks French so it's not so crucial to know Arabic.
Here are Peter and Jessa buying some olives in Tangier. I don't like olives, and never in my life have I eaten an entire olive, but the marinated olives Morocco were delicious and I ate quite a few! They're served at pretty much every meal, including breakfast.
More delicious Moroccan bread. We bought one of these loaves in Tangier and, along with some olives and olive oil, had a delicious snack.
Finally, yet another Moroccan breakfast. You get the idea: bread, oil and honey, goat cheese, olives, orange juice, and tea. Yum yum yum! Tomorrow: tiles!
No hummus??
