Some of you may have worried that I hit rock bottom when I recently started an Instagram account for Allie. Actually, there is a method to my madness: 1) I could have an outlet for all the pictures I've taken of Allie over the years; 2) I'd have an excuse to continue taking pictures of Allie; and 3) I could get better at understanding and using Instagram above and beyond my knowledge as a casual user with a private account. So far, so good. But now that I'm taking even more pictures of Allie than ever, I end up with a surplus of photos that aren't Instagram-ready so ..... here you go ..... a few discards. They won't knock your socks off, but they will give me enough pictures to make a post during a slow Harrison news week.
This is Allie keeping guard while we watch TV. By the way, her Instagram handle is allieg_miniaussie. She only has 148 followers so tell your friends and/or follow her yourself! I try to post about one picture every day.
Speaking of being a watch dog, this is a classic Allie pose where she sits with her back to us so she can keep an eye on all incoming threats.
Trying to get a picture of Allie when she's playing with a toy is above my pay-grade as a photographer. But I did try. Others do better than I do. One of the unexpected joys of Allie having her own Instagram is that I see photos of so many other Instagram dogs, and they're wonderful. It's incredible how many adorable photos of dogs there are out there! (My favorite is my_aussie_gal; it features an Aussie who can do tricks, including Irish dancing for St. Patrick's Day.)
Allie doesn't do tricks. But speaking of adorable dogs, even this one didn't make the cut for Instagram.
WHAT?!—A CAT?! (Please don't tell Allie that a picture of Peaches is in this post, but I couldn't resist.)
