Summer is Starting

Summer seems to get a slower start here than in the Midwest or New England. The weather's been beautiful but not at all hot. Last Saturday night when it was almost chilly, Brad and I went over to Cal State Long Beach for a choral concert. Our neighbor Bill sings in a local choir called the Camerata Singers and they had a benefit concert. We had a great time and afterwards enjoyed a nice dinner out with Bill.

Sunday saw us back at the same Farmer's Market we were at last weekend. It's adjacent to this marina, which is not a bad spot for a Farmer's Market.

On Monday night we went to a wine pairing dinner at a local restaurant with our friends Dan and Bill. A winery from Central California came down and the restaurant created a multi-course menu to go along with the wines. We got an explanation about each wine before it was poured. It was fantastic. Fortunately for all of us it's within walking distances of our houses.
