The First Shall be First

At the end of February, both John and Peter came out to visit my mom, and lucky for me my trip overlapped all of John's trip and most of Peter's. John arrived first. It was so great to see him. Even though he's smack dab in the middle of his semester, he gave up an entire weekend to fly out. Lucky for both him and Peter, their flights going both directions were on time and they had no hassles. I say this only because I know what a sacrifice of time it was, and it would have been unfortunate if they had wasted some of that time with travel delays, but that didn't happen for them nor did it happen for Mary when she visited in early March. Anyway, here's John with his godmother Kelle on one of many evenings during that visit when we had a fun and festive dinner together. (You know it's a party if Kelle and I break out the nonalcoholic beer.) John (and later Peter and Mary) brought his cooking skills to the kitchen and whipped up some good food. More importantly, we had fun all doing it together and it was great to have so much activity in the house.
