The One Where the Harrison Kids Get out of Dodge

All of our kids took vacations this month, starting with John and Troy and Sirius, who spent a week tent-camping in the backwoods in and around Crested Butte, Colorado. This picture was taken at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
Even though they spent virtually all of their time alone in the woods, John and Troy managed to find their way back to civilization to go to a winery in Paonia.
Next up was Mary and Andy, who spent a long weekend on a farm in Virginia, where Tikka had a lot of four-legged company and learned how to chase a frisbee. Later, she stayed at the Airbnb and napped while Mary and Andy visited nearby Shenandoah National Park.
Finally, Peter and Jessa left the cats at home, filled their car up with gas, and drove east to spend a week camping with college friends at Nordhaus Dunes Wilderness Area on the western shore of Michigan. That's Jessa on the bottom left, and Peter said she was adjacent to their campsite, to which I say: wow.
In this pandemic world, they appreciated getting to be near old friends in a Covid-friendly environment. Now everybody is back home and the Harrison kids, all of whom are in school in some form or another, have started their fall semesters.
