I'm so behind on my blogging. I didn't realize I had yet to write about my ten days in California after Mom passed. Kelle and I did the things one does after someone dies. It was a bittersweet time. We miss Mom already but we're glad she's in a better place. My sister hadn't left the house since March. So while I was there we went on two outings. First, we went for a walk in the neighborhood. Then, we went to the beach. She wanted to take it slowly, and as you can see, she was pretty happy to be at the beach. She and I quarantined from each other for the entire visit, but I told her that by the time I left we were likely safe to be around each other. Maybe I should have stayed?!While I was there I sorted through lots of photos in Mom's garage. I had this photo, of my mom at a very young age, laying out when a neighbor walked by and asked if it was me, which made me laugh. Any resemblance had never occurred to me before.I left to drive home on Thanksgiving morning. On Thanksgiving night, Mom's dog Simba left too. Kelle's husband, their daughter, and her fiance drove him to his new home in Colorado. He was taken in by a very excited John and Troy. And by a less than excited Sirius. Once he both realized they could share the couch, the situation already looked better to Sirius. I hear the dogs are doing great together and this new forever home for Simba is a very happy ending indeed.
