Almost ten years ago to the day, life looked different in January than it does here in Tucson. After so many years living in Wisconsin and upstate New York, what finally got Brad to buy a snowblower was this driveway in rural Connecticut. About a week prior to when this picture was taken, I was at a funeral in Illinois and Woodbury got walloped with snow. Not only that, there was going to be a wallop after the wallop. Mary and Brad figured they wouldn't be able to do enough shoveling to get out of the driveway to pick me up at the airport, so they called all over the region looking for a Home Depot that had a snow blower still in stock. They finally found one about an hour to the west, in New York state. And thank goodness they did. By the time they returned home from Home Depot the driveway was so filled with snow they had to park at the top of the driveway and blow the snow off the driveway to be able to get the car off the street. And as you can see from this picture, the snow didn't let up as it kept coming the following week. This makes winter sound awful, but it was so pretty in Woodbury and I often miss winter and snow, especially the way it smells.
