Shots and Birds

Brad and I got our second vaccines last week. Also last week, my sister Kelle spent a night with us when she came over to get her second dose. (She went home the morning she got her vaccine, which was a good thing as she was sick with a reaction the next day.) While she was here my cousin Dodie, who is staying about 90 minutes from here while helping to take care of a family member and who also got her second shot last week, came up for dinner. We made it an early birthday dinner for Brad and had a lot of fun doing something that felt so normal.

Meanwhile, we've been watching the birds who have been nesting above our back patio. This family of doves has babies who are getting ready to fly. We have another nest on top of one of our outside ceiling fans with brand new baby finches.

We also had a visitor the other day. This hummingbird took a tour of the house for well over half an hour, until she finally found the open door and flew home to freedom. I don't know if she was more relieved or we were. (Okay, she was more relieved.)
