Holiday Happenings in Tucson

We loved having the kids in town over the holidays. As soon as Lloyd arrived he discovered the joys of reading Christmas cards. He would like each and every one of you to know how much he enjoyed hearing from you.

The day after Lloyd arrived, Rosie flew into town, and the cousins started the party.

On the 24th we celebrated Troy's birthday with a tram ride through Sabino Canyon. It was cold, but we had fun.

Joyce's church caregiver called out sick so John and I went to church with her - and to Culver's afterwards.

John was assisted by his sous chef Peter in making Troy's birthday dinner.

On Christmas morning, Lloyd and Rosie got their first taste of matching pajamas.

It was Rosie's first Chrismas and she made the most of it.

The day after Christmas some of us visited Aunt Joyce in memory care.

Rosie and Lloyd showed off the adorable sweaters that Esther and her friend Linda got them.

Geneva joined us on the 26th and she and Rosie had some laughs.

I call this one the baby switcheroo.
Aunt Mary gave Rosie some early reading tutoring so she'd have a leg up compared to the other babies when she started daycare last week.

Lloyd taught Uncle Peter a secret handshake. (Or finger point.)

Lloyd's big accomplishment was figuring out how to walk many steps at a time. (Without holding onto anything.)

Rosie just laughed and smiled all week. And then, as quickly as everyone seemed to arrive, they left to go home. We are so thankful that we got to spend the time with everybody here. The house was crowded and sometimes chaotic, we were bound to the babies' sleep schedules, some of the adults struggled with health issues, but everything turned out great in that we were together, we laughed a lot, and the adults were healthier by the end of the week. So now another Christmas is in the books. It was Lloyd's second and Rosie's first and we're already looking forward to the next time we're all together in Tucson.
