Sunday was the state Mock Trial tournament, with 14 regional team winners competing against one another in the Dane County Courthouse (in Madison) to get to be one of two teams that would go on to compete in the final round on Monday afternoon before the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Each team on Sunday competed in four rounds. At the end of the day, Shorewood learned they had made it to the finals! And on Monday, after a two-hour legal battle of the brains before the seven justices of the State Supreme Court, Shorewood took 2nd place in the state Mock Trial championship round. It was a 4-3 decision, so each team was very convincing. The Shorewood squad put on a wonderful performance, but in the end they were bested by Appleton Xavier High School. Here are a few photos from yesterday's tournament and from today's final. It was a terrific experience for the kids (and parents too) and something we will never forget. For Shorewood, it was quite an accomplishment for the program, as it's the third year in a row that the team has made it to the finals! (They won it all two years ago, and took second place the last two years.)

Congrats to the Shorewood team!
