John is unhappy with us for going over to the Dark Side of grilling, but the deed has been done so there's no turning back. We (gulp) bought a gas grill. Goodbye charcoal and lighter fluid, hello instant flame! Here is Brad cooking our first dinner on it last weekend. Don't worry John, we'll keep the old grill around for you to cook on when you're home.

Last weekend Brad, Mary, and I went to New Haven to do some school shopping for Mary. The stores she wanted to go to were adjacent to Yale's campus, so we took a look around. It's beautiful and we liked what we saw.

Attention Peter and John: it's now safe to come home. The family room, the one room in a house where as we all know a person expects both comfort and television, and which up to now has contained only not-very-comfortable chairs and, as you might have guessed, not a single couch (John, you know that was for you), has been furnished. John and Mary helped us pick it out.

The line in the sand has been drawn, and it's in paint. In the left corner, we have the browns, favored by Brad. In the right corner, we have the reds, favored by Mary and Sue. Which color will become the new kitchen color? Stay tuned!

And speaking of color choices . . . as you can see, we're still trying to sort things out. The new furniture has added a layer of complexity to the problem too. The painting will begin at the end of the month, so decision time is upon us.
I'm sure John and Peter will agree with me when I tell you that your TV is too small for the room. Merry Christmas Harrison Family, your parents are going to buy you a bigger TV for Christmas!!!
