I never cease to be amazed and find it somewhat miraculous that acorn squash can grow on a trellis. This squash is hanging about two feet off the ground.
The Japanese beetles have eaten the leaves and petals of most of the other sunflowers, so it's a miracle that this one survived intact. I keep my bucket of soapy water nearby and "invite" all Japanese beetles for a "swim" whenever I see them.
The tomatoes are miracles because they're so big and healthy. After last year's late blight, we're still keeping our fingers crossed. But all of our tomato plants in all varieties are doing great at this point, knock on wood.
The peppers are a miracle because, well, let's face it, this is Connecticut and these are peppers. The really big miracle will be if we get any hot peppers.
Our four blueberry bushes need a miracle. Brad dug out these rectangular beds for them over the weekend and added compost, but after a slow start and some critters feasting on their leaves, only time will tell if they'll make it.
It's miraculous that most of the garden, including this dill, started from a seed.
But perhaps the biggest miracle of all . . . . . is Mary's clean bedroom.
