After giving me a hard time for skimping on the blog posts, I am making this post with Mary especially in mind. In the photo above, you can see that the garden (photographed from the kitchen window) is done for the season. We had a lettuce salad this week from what was left out there, but I cut all the lettuces down to the ground so there will be no more until spring.
From now until then, I'll take a break from live plants. This orchid is an exception. I'm terrible with houseplants, but this was a gift back in September. I can't believe it's still alive. I think I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing for it, but . . . . I'm not counting on it still being around by the time I get back out into the garden in the spring.
