Mary's Back!

Mary is home after finishing her first quarter at Stanford! Yippee! So what are Brad and I doing standing in front of a theater? Well . . . . . since her plane arrived after midnight, we decided to spend the evening leading up to her arrival at dinner in New York, followed by a Broadway show. And we saw . . . . . you guessed it . . . . . Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway. It was a fantastic show, so full of energy, great singing and dancing, and in general just superb entertainment. We both loved it!

Peter, this is for you. Remember seven short years ago when you and I saw Boy From Oz and I dragged you to the stage door after the show? (As though you could forget.) Well, Dad and I were walking by the theater just after the afternoon matinee let out. And there was a crowd of people standing around the stage door. We were not, I repeat, not going to wait around. But while we were taking photos of the marquis (see first photo in this post), the crowd goes mad and out pops, you guessed it, Hugh Jackman. Cameras already in hand, well, you know what happened next. So now I think it is a tradition:  two Hugh Jackman shows, two stage door sightings. I only wish you could have been here to share it with us.

But of course the highlight of the night was this girl!!!!! Mary arrived right on-time at JFK. Brad and I are so happy to have her home, and we get her here for three long weeks. For now it's just the three of us, but on Friday the whole family will be together!
