Waffle House

After packing up the car, we were ready to leave Williamsburg on Monday.

With all our Christmas gifts and luggage surrounding us, we got a lot of family togetherness in the car.

The CD that Peter gave Mary for Christmas provided our musical entertainment.

Stuck way in the back all by herself, Mary was a good sport.

I don't want anyone wearing those sunglasses driving our car.

That's more like it. Okay, now onto our Waffle House story. It's only 150 miles from Williamsburg to our destination, Washington, D.C. This was just enough time for one stop.

Our choice for a stop was none other than that iconic Southern diner, Waffle House. For me, Brad, John, and Mary it was our first Waffle House experience. Peter (a pro) was our guide to the culture and the menu that is Waffle House. We ate waffles (of course) and hash browns (mine and Mary's were "smothered," John's were "smothered and chunked," and Peter's were "smothered and covered"). Yes it was delicious, and no, it wouldn't be healthy to eat there too often. So we enjoyed every bite.

And after lunch, we also enjoyed a photo opportunity before heading to Washington for a few days for the annual Harrison Movie Marathon. (More on that later in the week.)

  1. Seriously, you've never eaten at a Waffle House? I guess you didn't go to college in Oklahoma like me so that might be where you missed it!

I'm guessing you better do double time on the treadmill this week to work off that meal!!

Happy New Year to the Harrison Family!
