It's been a great lettuce season and I lured myself into thinking that the greens might be willing to hang around for awhile. But with last week's heat I had to harvest the rest of the spinach today and pull out the plants as they all bolted. The arugula is also kaput and the leaf lettuce is slowly bolting. So tonight we're having another huge salad for dinner. I also harvested the onions - all returnees from last year. They had huge thick stalks and large gorgeous flowers. The onions down below weren't too bad either. We'll enjoy some of them in tonight's salad, and in the coming days.
