The Bishop looks animated, but Peter and his classmate Pawel Podbielski (with a name like that believe it or not this kid was American!) look pretty darned serious. In their defense, I guess it was a serious day as it was the day of their Confirmation. The date was May 19, 2002, and the Confirmation was held at our church in Warsaw, which was a parish for the foreign community - so all services, Masses, religious education, etc., were in English. I always thought that May was one of the prettiest months in Warsaw, and this day was no exception.
