On Monday, Mary left for her summer job in Pune, India. After three flights, two long layovers, and a looong cab ride on a journey that took over 36 hours, she arrived on Wednesday afternoon, Pune time - which is, in case you were wondering, 10 1/2 hours ahead of St. Louis. (Yes, I really said 10
and a half hours, which I also thought was odd but then Brad told me that India has half hour time zones - who knew?!) She's writing a blog while she's there and you can get to it by
clicking here or by going to it directly at marypharrison.wordpress.com. (To subscribe to email updates of her blog: go to her blog and in the bottom right corner there's a tab that says "Follow." After getting settled in her apartment (and taking a BIG nap) she wrote her first post today so there's already something to read! While in India she's working for the
Akankasha Foundation, which I'm pretty sure she'll talk about in her blog over the summer. We're excited for her, and are sure she'll have a fantastic summer. And while we don't want to rush things, we're also excited to see her when she visits St. Louis on her way back to campus in September! (P.S.I love this picture of Mary at her dorm's end-of-the-year banquet. I cropped it out of a group photo, so my apologies to all of her adorable friends who are no longer pictured with her!)
