Bon Voyage

I'm guessing that right about now Lloyd and Esther are getting ready to board their flight from JFK to Casablanca, to start their Peace Corps adventure. We enjoyed having them here for the past week, during their last week in the States before heading overseas. On Friday night we had a farewell dinner at the house.

I apologize for the poor quality of some of my photos lately. I don't know if I've mentioned it, but we seem to have lost or misplaced both of our cameras in the move a year ago. If we have them, Lord only knows where they are as I've looked everywhere. In the meantime, I'm biding my time until I get a better iPhone with a better camera. My iPhone 4S does well with outdoor photos, but inside it's much dicier.

Crummy though some of these pictures are, as you can hopefully see we all had a good time together.  

Of course Sirius joined us for dinner. He's never very far from the food. (And if you're wondering where Allie is, all I can say is . . . . . when Sirius is around she's always as far from him as she can manage.)

These three Bediks enjoyed their time together this past week!

And they'll miss not being together.

On Saturday night, Lloyd and Esther treated us all to a delicious Vietnamese dinner (and menu lesson) at St. Louis' best Vietnamese restaurant, Mai Lee. The food was fresh and fantastic, and we learned a lot about how to decipher the menu. Bright and early the next morning, they were off to Philadelphia for some training before their flight over to Morocco tonight. We wish them well, and if you want to follow their continuing adventures, their blog is lloydandestherbedik.wordpress.com. Though as they've told us, they don't have much information about how often or how well they'll be able to access the internet so . . . . . we'll all stay tuned and be patient for news. In the meantime, they'll be in our thoughts as they begin this exciting chapter in their lives.
