April Is Shaping Up To Be a Pretty Good Month

Allie is jumping for joy now that the weather is turning more consistently warm.
And by jumping for joy, I mean jumping for joy! She gets more air under her feet than any of the human Harrisons can . . . . . by quite a lot!!
Mary was jumping for joy last Monday when she and seven Stanford friends went on a spring break cruise to Ensenada and Catalina. The majority of the group were on staff together last year in a certain dorm that is near and dear to their hearts . . . . . the name of which I will leave you to guess.
This is the ship they were on. A good time was had by all and by Friday night everyone returned safely and soundly to campus. (Spring break photo credit goes to Mary Harrison.)
Monday of this week was the start of spring quarter, otherwise known as Mary's last first day of school. Knowing how I like first day of school pictures, our thoughtful daughter had a friend take her picture on her last first day.
Back here in St. Louis  . . . . . this morning on our walk, Allie and I saw lots of beautiful spring flowers. Magnolias like these are blooming all over town.
The forsythia bushes are at their peak and will start fading soon.
I had to look up this flower. It's called a hellebore.
These azaleas are in our front yard.
 I love the periwinkle.
 These are our daffodils!
And so are these!
And last but not least, the weeping cherry tree in our front yard is at its peak. It's such a pretty tree for a couple of weeks out of the year. For the rest of the year we wish we could get rid of it. Looks like it's earned itself another reprieve!

  1. We had 2 cherry trees in our yard when we moved into our house. About 10 years ago we had them taken out. The blossoms are so pretty but the fruit is such a mess!
