Chicago Weekend and Thensome

Brad and I had a fast but fun overnight in Chicago. Saturday night was Mary and Jack Iberle's 30th wedding anniversary (surprise) party in Libertyville. We had a great time, which you can kind of see by the posed picture.
But you can better see by the not-so-posed picture. The night was filled was lots of laughs, that's for sure!
The Iberle kids threw the party for their parents, and they're all grown up and doing great. In case any of you are wondering how everyone looks, here you are. (That's Margot in yellow and Jenna in red.)
On Sunday we headed down to Morris for Aunt Dot's 90th birthday party. This was the sign at the entrance.
Aunt Dot's doing great. She had lots of people at the party and seemed to really enjoy herself.
I borrowed this picture from Sue Coon's facebook page. (I hope you don't mind, Sue!) This is Aunt Dot with her daughters Sue and Jan and grandson Blaine (BJ).
Meanwhile, on Sunday night Peter got a surprise visit from Kelle and Bob in DC. Kelle and Bob were in Virginia Beach to see Sarah off on her cross country bike ride. So when they found themselves with a bit of spare time, they headed up to DC and took (daughter) Emily and Peter out to dinner.
No slouch herself, Mary spent the weekend wine tasting in Sonoma County. She and some friends visited a few wineries and enjoyed some glorious weather. It sounds like they had a great time. Back at home in St. Louis, Allie spent the night with John and Troy (and Sirius) while we were away. Now that we're home we've gotten a few chores done around here while Brad's had some ribs slowly cooking on the grill all day. We're planning an early dinner of ribs and red wine in the screened-in porch so we can take in some more of the beautiful day.
