Madison, Morocco, and Miscellaneous

John and Troy spent the weekend at the Great Taste of the Midwest, a huge beer festival in Madison, Wisconsin. On the way they stopped at the Whole Foods in Madison to catch up with Mrs. Singer. For the second year in a row they had a nice visit together and . . . . . took a picture!

Friday night found Peter and Mary together in DC at Peter and Jessa's second-to-the-last going away party. From the going away party, this picture emerged. Oh those silly Harrison kids. (The very last goodbye party was the next day at Jessa's mom's house.) Although they had been in Gettysburg most of the week with Jessa's mom, Peter and Jessa had to make one final trip to DC for some last-minute errands, most importantly finishing up the paperwork for Peaches with the Moroccan Embassy and the U.S. State Department. Mission accomplished!
Meanwhile back in Madison, John and Troy had glorious weather for their beer festival. I don't know if this is Lake Mendota or Lake Monona, but whichever one it is, it couldn't have been bluer. They had a fantastic time at the festival.
Sirius stayed with us while John and Troy were away. He likes it here and he feels right at home.
And by right at home, I mean I found him on the couch! Troy said he was just guarding the house as per Allie's example.
And then there were the Moroccan travelers. More than 9,000 miles after starting off on their cross-country trip on July 2, they reached Dulles for their flight to Morocco. Their flight ended up being a bit delayed, and Peaches had to stay in her crate for almost 24 hours in total. But I hear she was a trooper and made the trip like a champ. So did Peter and Jessa, who are now getting settled in their apartment in Casablanca and getting ready for their first full day in their new city tomorrow with colleagues from their new school.
