Lots to catch up on so this post will be all over the place. Last weekend I was in California to see Brad. On the Seal Beach Pier we found a tame and rather large pelican. He was happy to let me take his picture, but when Brad tried to get in the frame, the pelican shied away from him. It was pretty funny. I guess he's a solo act.
We went to Brad's office Christmas party and I asked the hotel front desk person to take our photo before we left.
The party was at a waterfront house in Huntington Beach. The view was lovely, and it was the night of the holiday parade of boats. After dinner we went on a boat tour through the neighborhood to see the holiday lights. It was very pretty.
We had breakfast in Orange on Sunday and found this building. I think it speaks for itself.
Brad found a Packers bar in Long Beach and we went there for the game. This was a fraction of the Packers fans inside. It was almost 100% enthusiastic Packers fans, sporting all sorts of Packers apparel (including, of course, a cheesehead).
Is this a thing of beauty of what? It was my first coconut stout from a local brewery and it was one of the best beers I've ever had. (And for those with discerning eyes, you're right, it was on nitro.)
Speaking of beer, John and Troy got some good news over the weekend. Their Pilsner took first place in the STL Brews Happy Holiday Homebrew Competition! Congratulations to our two favorite beer brewers!
And finally, it was quite an effort to get it, but our house has been recognized as a Webster Groves Century Home by the Webster Groves Historical Society. When Brad gets home he'll hang our new plaque outside by the front door.
Congrats to Brad & Troy!! That coconut beer looks amazing!! Your office party and boat ride looked like it was really fun. That pelican was great!! I would have been scared of it.
