California/Colorado: From The Skies

One last post from my trip! I flew out of Long Beach Airport on a picture perfect day and decided to take advantage of the view, a window seat, and my camera. So bear with me on my nerdy photo journey through the skies. (Also bear with my geographic skills, which you are most welcome to second-guess.) But before we even take off, behold the wonderfully small, throwback airport that we have here in Long Beach. It was my first time to fly from here and it's great.
Taking off we headed out over the ocean before making our U-turn toward Denver. This is our ascent over the Port of Long Beach.
Now we're over the ocean and halfway through our U-turn. That's still the Port of Long Beach. (We live off the right side of the photo.)
U-turn complete, this is looking up the coast. You can see the edge of the Port of Los Angeles on the bottom. That big piece of land jutting into the ocean is Palos Verdes.
Fast forward to my return trip from Colorado to LAX. I had plenty of time to take in the gorgeous view of the Rockies covered in an early fall snow.
Slowly the snow dissipated until we were over .....
Utah. I believe is either Bridges or Canyonlands National Park. For sure it's east of the Colorado River.
This is either Glen Canyon or darned close to it, because the next picture is very definitely .....
Lake Powell and the Hoover Dam.
Near Las Vegas, we also flew over two separate solar farms. This is one of them. I wonder why they chose to lay them out in such strange shapes, and so far from each other.
And then before I knew it we were back over Los Angeles.
But not before we got to see the new stadium under construction for the Rams and Chargers, across from the The Forum.
