On November 23, 2001—exactly 17 years ago today—we were spending Thanksgiving weekend in the southern Polish mountain town of Zakopane. This is the kids in the town. It was snowy and scenic and magical (and Black Friday didn't exist). For those and so many other reasons I love our memories of that first trip to Zakopane.
