Flashback Friday

In October of 2012, these two moved to St. Louis together from college/home (John) and New York City (Troy, who was one year ahead of John at Tufts). It was an exciting and scary time. They had plenty of dreams, a leased apartment in St. Louis, and no jobs. Once in St. Louis they both quickly got jobs. John's had a total of two; Troy's had more than I can count! But what counts most is that her progression has been steady and that this theatre major invented out of whole cloth a career as a brewer. I say all this because yesterday they bid farewell to their time together in St. Louis. Today, Troy's mom and I are on the road with them and their dog Sirius en route to Fort Collins, Colorado and Troy's new job at New Belgium Brewing. Even with Troy's wonderful professional opportunity, I'm sure it was hard for them to decide to make this change. In addition to good jobs, their time and memories in St. Louis included creating a fantastic community of supportive and loving friends, bringing a beloved dog into their lives, developing a health conscious lifestyle, and of course getting married. It must have been hard to step away from that life but I'm sure they're confident they can do it again in Fort Collins. I think I can speak for Brad and for Troy's parents when I say that we're so glad we got to share in part of their St. Louis experience while we all lived there at the same time, and we can't wait to see what comes next for these two in Fort Collins!
