Brad had a bike accident while they were here so we weren't in the mood for many pictures, but here's one from after another breakfast out.
Our friends Anne and Dave Warfield from St. Louis were in the area over Labor Day too. We all went to dinner with my mom in Dana Point, but sadly there isn't a picture from that fun evening. However, a couple of days later Chuck and Geneva and I met Anne for a nice lunch in Seal Beach when we did remember to take a picture.
It's become a tradition that on their last morning here Chuck and Geneva and I go out for donuts. This year we sampled Knead, which did not disappoint. (As an aside to Chuck and Geneva: after we went I was told by a friend that the Fruity Pebbles donut is unbelievable. We'll have to go back!)
In other goings-on, Tikka recently graduated from obedience school. I don't know who's happier, Tikka or Mary.
Peter isn't teaching this year, but I'm glad to see him in the classroom. As part of his work for Book Trust, he's going to be visiting a lot of schools in the Philadelphia area.
By the time they're done rolling out Book Trust in Philadelphia, all K-3 kids in all Philadelphia public schools will be enrolled in the program, which gives kids free Scholastic book orders throughout the school year. Not surprisingly, Peter is loving his work there.
And speaking of Philadelphia, Mary and Andy (not pictured) found themselves there this weekend. I asked for a photo and this is what I got. I think they need to up their game next time, and I also think they need to include Jessa and Andy next time too. Agree or disagree?
