Back in Racine, when Mary was very small and starting to play soccer, I was the highly underqualified coach of the Prairie Dogs for a few seasons. I knew practically nothing about how to coach soccer, but I could get the kids moving on the field in the right direction (most of the time) and hopefully excited about the game. At that age, that's about all that matters.
