Flashback Friday
Today we're doing something we haven't done in over a year: we're going on a trip by airplane. With both of us fully vaccinated (just barely too: we had our two-week-post-vaccine anniversary on Wednesday) and our nephew getting married tomorrow in Oklahoma City, we decided it was time to get our vaccinated selves back into the world, albeit with masks, hand sanitizer, and plans to distance when we're around the unvaccinated. This behavior feels strange, like going from zero to sixty way too fast. After all, it seems like yesterday when I was still ordering groceries for curbside pickup, and indeed it was only a week or so ago. This Flashback is from a plane trip in 2004, when we flew out of Cairns in Australia after a vacation at and around the Great Barrier Reef. The reefs shown in the picture are called The Ribbon Reefs, a chain of ten reefs on the outermost edge of the Great Barrier Reef. They may look like islands but they are definitely under water.
